The 'Un Mare di Suoni'

The Church of Santa Maria di Donnalbina in Naples Hosts the Inaugural Concert

Featuring the Orchestra Conducted by Maestro Gennaro Cappabianca

NAPLES – The ‘Un Mare di Suoni’ (A Sea of Sounds) 2026 concert series gets underway on Friday, April 3, at 7:00 PM. The season’s opening performance will be entrusted to one of the greatest masterpieces of sacred music of all time: Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater.”

The concert, titled “La Passione secondo Pergolesi” (The Passion According to Pergolesi), will take place in the monumental Church of Santa Maria di Donnalbina, located in the historic center of Naples, offering the audience an immersive listening experience on Easter Friday. The concert will feature the Collegium Philarmonicum orchestra, conducted by Maestro Gennaro Cappabianca.

The event celebrates the fruitful collaboration between the concert series and the San Carlo Theatre Foundation—a strategic partnership dedicated to fostering young talent. “Our collaboration with the San Carlo Theatre Foundation is fundamental to us,” declares Maestro Gennaro Cappabianca. “It represents a vital pillar, particularly for a youth-focused and educational endeavor such as that of the Collegium Philarmonicum. It is a steadfast commitment to passing down the great Neapolitan musical tradition to new generations of musicians, enabling them to grow within a context of the highest institutional standing.”
